Scope: A valued customer had a number of spring manufacturing machines used in the mass production of mattress pocket springs. The machines are over 50 years old and have a manufacturing capacity of approximately 30 springs per minute. GMD designed, manufactured and installed a series of mechanical upgrades using linear slides, improved bearing materials and more reliable and consistent fast moving parts that have now increased the production capacity to 60 springs per minute. A proven investment that has resulted in higher production, higher quality parts and a massive reduction in setting time and maintenance down time.
