Scope: This cast iron part had been exposed to harsh marine conditions for several decades and had suffered as a consequence. There were no drawings of the part, so GMD were tasked with reverse engineering the part with some degree of free license to determine features and dimensions that could not be measured. The part was measured as accurately as possible and modelled on Inventor. The final part was machined from a solid steel billet and fitted back on board with no issues. The whole process from drop off to collection took 4 weeks.
