Scope: GMD were approached with an existing pattern for some louvre panels, used as part of a filtration system in the Thin Film Optical Coating process during the manufacture of precision optics for the aerospace and defence industry. From the pattern, GMD were able to reverse engineer, improve upon the design, and then manufacture a total of 3 pairs of Louvre Panels. The panels are 530mm x 460mm x 300mm and are manufacture entirely from 2mm Thick 316 Stainless Steel. The new panels have functioned exactly as required and are now assisting in the production of critical precision optics for the Aerospace and Defence industries.
